How to clean Altas Mills Internal Parts

Keeping Your Mill in Top Shape (Without the Guesswork)
Regular cleaning isn't just maintenance—it's the secret to a mill that grinds beautifully for years. The best time to clean? Whenever you've taken it apart to refill. These mills are designed for easy disassembly, so take full advantage.
How to take it apart completely:
Remove all contents first, then clean every piece thoroughly.
Start by taking off the top knob and handle. From there, remove the grinding mechanism and the central shaft from the mill body.
For models 110 and 210: flip the mill over and remove the screws on the underside.
For other pepper mills: look for screws on the sides. Remove those to free the grinding mechanism.
A special note for salt mills:
Salt mills use a different plastic grinding mechanism, also held in by screws on the underside. Remove those screws to take out the plastic parts. The mill body itself has a plastic internal lining that cannot be removed—so don't try.
How to clean once disassembled:
Use a small brush and a dry cloth to clean all parts thoroughly.
Plastic parts from salt grinders only: these can be cleaned separately in water to dissolve any clogged salt. (No other parts should touch water.)
Everything else: dry cleaning only.
Before reassembling, make sure every part is completely clean and completely dry. While the mill is apart, take a moment to check for any signs of corrosion and address it immediately.
